After five days [yes, five days!!] of rain, challenges and five match points Rafa has finally got round to beating Soderling! Finally . . .

And now? On to the fourth round . . . the Ladies Singles are already in done and almost onto the quarters, but I still can’t figure out which lady I’ll be backing - the Williams sisters are just too unrelatable and predictable; Sharapova is okay, but a bit meh; Kuznetsova is dull in the extreme and is now sporting the most ratty example of why blonde girls should never, ever have cornrows; Mauresmo - whom everyone seems to hate, but seems so nice and really deserves it! - is out and I just can’t get attached to Ivanovic, Vaidisova or any of the new Russian/Serbian crop of female players. Which leaves Henin, who seems cool, and doesn’t take any shit from press confrencers.

Plus she manages to always look nicely goofy in action shots.

Ooh, Roddick’s through! Yay! As long as he’s nice and doesn’t mock Nadal’s silly shorts again . . .

Update: Henin is through - 6-4 3-6 6-3 !!

Okay, first off, I heart tennis, and more specifically, I heart Wimbledon - big-massive-over-the-top-heart-Wimbledon

I’ve been watching the BBC’s Wimbledon coverage whilst I do my C.V. . . . . . . . and there’s certainly been Oh My Gosh Drama today:

Williams vs. Hantuchova : Serena’s screams of agony from cramp : bless Hantuchova for going over to offer support : Serena winning a service game after being taped up - talk about endurance!!

Nadal vs. Soderling : Rafa looking fragile : bouncing back : rain stops play with Rafa up 2-0, 6-6 and 7-7 in the tie-break!

Here’s hoping for sunshine - Vamos Rafa! and some respite for Venus’s calves . . .

Today we set up for Pixel Shake, which included:

being two hours early in the most rain I’ve seen in months

discovering Green and Blacks Maya Gold - oh yes

industrial winching

more double-sided foam adhesive pads than I ever care to see again

Mr Birk being mostly concerned with how little beer there was for the private view

particpants turning their noses up at such a ‘ghetto’ location - come on, it’s Bethnal Green, not St. Raph’s!

Lukas and Russ snickering for two hours before alerting me to the aforementioned Green and Blacks on my fass

getting my own back by hogging the electric screwdriver

finding this all over Harrow
